Even before its official release, “Jawan” has already achieved remarkable success at the Box Office. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film, set to hit theaters in two days, has broken records for pre-sales in the Hindi film industry this year, following in the footsteps of SRK’s own “Pathaan.” It has outperformed “Gadar 2” in advance booking, a record set by the Sunny Deol-starrer just last month.
According to reports from the trade website sacnilk, as of September 4th at 8 pm, “Jawan” had grossed over Rs 8 crore in advance sales in the Hindi language alone. This surpassed “Gadar 2,” which had recorded around Rs 17.60 crore in advance bookings for its opening day. “Pathaan” still holds the top spot with pre-sales business of approximately Rs 31 crore for the opening day at the Box Office. It’s expected that “Jawan” may eventually surpass “Pathaan,” but it remains to be seen if it can break more Box Office records both domestically and worldwide in the long run.
As of September 5th at 6 am, the Atlee-directed film has sold over seven lakh tickets, amounting to a total pre-sales business of approximately Rs 21.14 crore gross. The majority of the collection has come from the Hindi version, with around 6.7 lakh tickets sold, grossing approximately Rs 19.45 crore.
Here’s the language-wise breakdown of “Jawan” opening day advance bookings in India:
Hindi: Rs19.45 crore – 6.7 lakh tickets
Hindi IMAX: Rs91.6 lakh – 12K tickets
Tamil: Rs 45.3 lakh – 28K tickets
Telugu: Rs 30.57 lakh – 24K tickets
All India: 21.14 crore rupee and 7.4 lakh tickets
With such impressive advance sales, “Jawan” is poised to collect between Rs 40-45 crore gross on its opening day, with the actual net collection possibly exceeding Rs 50 crore at the Box Office. “Pathaan” had an astonishing opening of Rs 57 crore net in India, and “Jawan” seems well-positioned to surpass that figure.
