Recently, Hemant Soren, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate amidst the Jharkhand Political Crisis following ED raids at his residence. Before his arrest, Hemant Soren stepped down and designated Champai Soren as the Chief Minister. While Hemant Soren remains in police custody, his wife, Kalpana Soren, conveyed a heartfelt message via Hemant Soren’s social media account on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) on their 18th wedding anniversary. She referred to him as her ‘Brave Jharkhandi Warrior’ and shared a previously unseen photograph. Here’s how she expressed her wishes for the former CM:
Kalpana Soren’s Anniversary Message
In her message, posted in Hindi and translated into English, Kalpana Soren expressed, “Hemant ji chose not to yield, prioritizing the protection of Jharkhand’s existence and identity. He believed in confronting and defeating conspiracies. Today marks our 18th wedding anniversary, yet Hemant ji is not here with his family, his children. I firmly believe he will overcome this conspiracy, emerge triumphant, and reunite with us soon.”

Continuing her message, she remarked, “I am the partner of a valiant Jharkhandi warrior. I won’t succumb to emotions today. Like Hemant ji, I’ll smile even in adversity, offering strength to his courage and struggle.” Alongside her words, Kalpana Murmu Soren shared a never-before-seen picture of herself cooking in the kitchen while her husband stood behind her.
Born in Ranchi in 1976, Kalpana Soren has deep ties to the city, and she tied the knot with Hemant Soren on February 7, 2006. The couple has two children, Ansh and Nikhil. Kalpana, not involved in politics, is engaged in various businesses. Reports suggest she holds an MBA and a master’s degree in engineering. Initially speculated to take over as Jharkhand CM after her husband’s arrest, Champai Soren was ultimately selected for the role.
