
With the Delhi Assembly elections just around the corner, Congress unveiled its manifesto today, outlining key promises aimed at improving the lives of Delhiites. The manifesto was presented by Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, and Devender Yadav, focusing on inflation relief, healthcare, food security, and youth empowerment.

Key Promises in Congress’ Delhi Manifesto
- Inflation Relief: Congress pledges to ease the financial burden on residents, offering gas cylinders at ₹500 and free ration kits for those in need.
- Healthcare Access: The party promises free health coverage up to ₹25 lakh, along with free medicines and diagnostics. Congress also plans to build 10 super-specialty hospitals and establish 24/7 dispensaries to enhance healthcare access across the city.
- Affordable Food: Congress aims to tackle food insecurity by setting up 100 Indira Canteens to provide affordable, nutritious meals to Delhi residents.
- Electricity and Water Commitments: Under the banner of Congress Ka Wada Bijli Paani Delhi Ko Mile Zyada, the party promises free 300 units of electricity for households and 24/7 clean drinking water. Congress also plans to reduce fees for new meters and waive pending dues for farmers.
- Dalit Welfare: Congress will organize a free Char Dham Yatra for Dalit communities, offering visits to Sarnath, Bodh Gaya, Sant Ravidas’ birthplace, and Babasaheb’s birthplace in Mhow.
- Youth Empowerment: The manifesto promises a one-year apprenticeship program for youth with a stipend of ₹8,500/month. Additionally, Congress plans to restore 15,000+ Civil Defence Volunteer positions and offer free DTC passes for school-going children.
- Rural Sports Infrastructure: The party also commits to building new sports stadiums in rural Delhi to promote physical activity and talent development.
