All leaves cancelled for Health Ministry officials by Centre amid Impending Situation

New Delhi, May 9:
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Friday issued an urgent directive cancelling all forms of leave, including station leave, for its officers and staff, citing an “impending situation.” The order, issued from Nirman Bhawan and signed by Under Secretary Amit K. Sharma, states that no leave of any kind will be granted unless it is for medical reasons.

In addition, all previously sanctioned leaves stand cancelled with immediate effect, and officials who are currently on leave have been asked to return to duty without delay. Controlling officers have been directed to ensure compliance and instruct their subordinates accordingly.

“This decision has been taken with the approval of the competent authority,” the order notes, without disclosing the nature of the impending situation.
The circular has been distributed to all officers and staff within the ministry, including autonomous bodies, subordinate offices, and attached institutions under MoHFW’s administrative control. Senior officials have been asked to circulate these instructions further to ensure full implementation.
