New Delhi : Sanjay Singh, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), criticized the BJP sharply regarding the electoral bonds issue, asserting that it fostered corruption as companies operating at a loss funneled hundreds of crores to the saffron party through the now-defunct political funding scheme.
“Corruption has occurred under the guise of electoral bonds, with tax exemptions granted. Thanks to the Supreme Court, the complete data was made public. What I am disclosing reveals a sequence of events: 33 companies, which have collectively lost Rs 1 lakh crore over seven years, have donated Rs 450 crore to the BJP,” Sanjay Singh stated during a PC at the Aam Aadmi Party office in New Delhi.
“Seventeen companies either paid zero tax or received tax exemptions. Six companies contributed Rs 600 crore to the BJP. One company donated three times its profits, while another donated 93 times its profits. Additionally, three companies, having donated Rs 28 crore, paid zero tax,” he added.
