Loveyapa, starring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, has struggled at the box office, earning just ₹6.27 crore in six days despite a ₹60 crore budget. With declining weekday collections, the film’s fate now depends on weekend growth.
Loveyapa, featuring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, has been facing an uphill battle at the box office. The romantic comedy, directed by Advait Chandan, saw a dip in collections on its first Tuesday, earning just Rs 0.62 crore on Day 6, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. With this, the film’s total Hindi net box office collection now stands at Rs 6.27 crore.
Loveyapa, produced by AGS Entertainment and Phantom Films, had high expectations riding on it, especially given its connection to the hit Tamil film Love Today (2022). The original Tamil version, helmed by Pradeep Ranganathan, was made on a modest budget of Rs 6 crore but emerged as a blockbuster, grossing Rs 83.55 crore worldwide.

In contrast, Loveyapa reportedly had a production budget of Rs 60 crore, but its current earnings suggest a struggle to recover costs. The film’s collections have been significantly lower than anticipated, raising concerns about its overall theatrical run.

Loveyapa revolves around a young couple whose relationship is put to the test by the girl’s skeptical father. He challenges his daughter (Khushi Kapoor) and her boyfriend (Junaid Khan) to swap their phones for 24 hours before deciding to marry. This seemingly simple challenge spirals into a comedy of errors, bringing modern-day relationship dilemmas to the forefront. The film also stars veteran actor Ashutosh Rana in a pivotal role.
Despite its lackluster start, Loveyapa still has a chance to make up for the losses if it gains traction over the weekend. However, given its current trajectory, it remains to be seen if positive word-of-mouth can help turn the tide for this romantic comedy.
