Meet Baby Frankie, the First Member of Generation Beta

As the clock struck 12:03 AM on January 1, 2025, a tiny cry filled the room at Synod Hospital in Durtlang, Mizoram. That cry belonged to Baby Frankie Remruatdika Zadeng, India’s first newborn of the year—and the very first child in the country to join the next generation: Generation Beta.

Frankie, a healthy 3.12-kilogram baby boy, is the pride and joy of his parents, Ramzirmawii and ZD Remruatsanga, and a wonderful new companion for his older sister. “Both mother and baby are doing perfectly well,” shared Sister Lalchhuanawmi, the nurse who helped bring Frankie into the world. The family, who hails from Khatla East in Aizawl, is overjoyed. “We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year,” said the new father with a big smile.

Frankie isn’t just India’s first baby of 2025—he represents something bigger. He’s among the first of Generation Beta, a group of children born between 2025 and 2039 who will grow up in a world defined by artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and groundbreaking innovations.

These children will be the AI natives, shaping a future where technology and sustainability walk hand in hand. If Generation Alpha, born between 2011 and 2024, was all about living in a digital world, Generation Beta is expected to take that world and make it even better.

Frankie joins a global moment, following Baby Remi from Australia, who arrived on December 15, 2024, as the first Beta baby in the world.
