MERI Group of Institutions signs MoU with Diplomatic Academy in Uzbekistan

The MERI Group of Institutions has entered into a formal academic partnership with the Diplomatic Academy at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Tashkent on April 23, 2025.
Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice-President of MERI Group, and Prof. Sadiq S. Safoev, Rector of UWED, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. The ceremony was attended by academic officials and representatives from both India and Uzbekistan, including Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi, Head of the MERI Centre for International Studies, and officials from the Indian Embassy in Tashkent.

The MoU outlines a framework for cooperation in several academic disciplines including management, information technology, artificial intelligence, diplomatic studies, and economics. It also provides for collaborative research, exchange of expertise, and organization of joint academic events such as conferences, seminars, and roundtable discussions.
The partnership emphasizes the exchange of knowledge and development of joint research projects focused on international business, trade, international law, and cultural studies. Both sides have agreed to promote academic dialogue that supports the broader goals of strengthening educational and cultural ties between India and Uzbekistan.
Established in 2022, the Diplomatic Academy at UWED provides training and research in diplomacy, governance, and international relations. The MERI Group of Institutions, based in New Delhi, offers programs in management, engineering, law, journalism, and other professional fields.
This collaboration is part of ongoing efforts by both institutions to foster regional academic linkages and engage in policy-relevant research.
