MERI’s literary club hosts exciting blog writing competition, celebrates student creativity

New Delhi, 24 March 2025

The Literary Club of Management Education & Research Institute (MERI), Delhi, hosted an inspiring blog writing competition, “Unleash Your Words, Ignite Your Idea.”

Organized by Dr. Shikha Gupta, Ms. Sarita Yadav, and Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Bagga, with student coordinator Vedanth, the event encouraged students from BBA, BCA, B.Com, BAJMC, and MBA to showcase their writing skills on thought-provoking topics.

After a competitive preliminary round, 18 outstanding blogs advanced to the finals.

The competition was judged by Mr. Sidharth Jain from DIDM and Prof. Rakesh Khurana, advisor at MERI. Mr. Jain highlighted the growing importance of digital marketing and how blogging remains a crucial skill for students.

Prof. Khurana, with over 50 years of academic and corporate experience, spoke about the impact of AI on future careers. He explained that AI is not a threat but a tool that will take over repetitive tasks, allowing professionals to focus on higher-level skills. He encouraged students across disciplines to integrate AI, robotics, and cybersecurity into their learning.

After a rigorous evaluation based on creativity, originality, and depth, the winners were announced:

  • Gurleen Kaur (BBA, 4th semester) – First place
  • Hanshika Dogra (BAJMC) – Second place
  • Mansha Arora (MBA, 2nd semester) – Third place
  • Niharika Mishra (B.Com, 4th semester) – Consolation prize

Dr. Shikha Gupta delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the participants, judges, and organizers. The competition successfully encouraged students to hone their writing skills, fostering a culture of creativity and intellectual exploration at MERI.

With its success, “Unleash Your Words, Ignite Your Idea” reaffirmed MERI’s commitment to nurturing young minds and inspiring future writers.
