Pravin Tarde, the director of the Marathi film “Mulshi Pattern,” has expressed his dissatisfaction with Salman Khan’s Bollywood remake titled “Antim: The Final Truth,” in which Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma play key roles. The original Marathi movie was remade in Bollywood under the direction of Mahesh Manjrekar. Tarde revealed that Salman Khan was impressed by the Marathi film and its impact. However, both Pravin Tarde and Marathi actor Upendra Limaye, who were involved in the original film, have expressed their disappointment with the outcome of the Salman-Aayush starrer. They both believe that no filmmaker can replicate the essence of the original movie.
MARATHI DIRECTOR PRAVIN TARDE CRITIQUES SALMAN KHAN’S ‘ANTIM: THE FINAL TRUTH’
During an interview on the show “Bol Bhidu,” Tarde stated, “After watching ‘Mulshi Pattern,’ Salman praised it greatly. But when he decided to remake it, he ended up making a mess of it… Mahesh sir directed the remake, and I wasn’t involved in that project. However, I want to publicly state that I have not yet seen the film ‘Antim.’ I have refrained from doing so because ‘Mulshi Pattern’ is the only version in my mind and heart. I have heard from people that ‘Mulshi Pattern’ remains the superior film.” Limaye, who appeared in both “Mulshi Pattern” and “Antim,” shared his view, saying, “There’s no doubt about it. I have worked on both films. The authenticity and depth that Tarde brought to the original film, rooted in the Mulshi region, were compromised in the attempt to refine it. I believe that if they had remade it as it was, it would have retained its appeal.”
Salman Khan’s upcoming project is “Tiger 3,” directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films. The movie is part of YRF’s spy universe and features Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in significant roles.
