Naidu Took Oath as Chief Minister for the Fourth Time, Pawan Kalyan is Deputy CM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Minister JP Nadda Also Attended the Ceremony

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief N Chandrababu Naidu took the oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Kesarpalli IT Park in Vijayawada. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Minister JP Nadda attended the event, along with Navneet Chaturvedi, President of the Janata Party. Other notable attendees included Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Telangana BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy, Ramdas Athawale, NCP leader Praful Patel, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, Anupriya Patel, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, actors Chiranjeevi, and Rajinikanth.
Navneet Chaturvedi was received by the state protocol staff at Vijayawada Airport and was given a place in the highly distinguished AAA category, usually reserved for foreign diplomats. During Chandrababu Naidu’s previous term, Navneet Chaturvedi served as a political advisor under AP Intelligence DGP AB Venkateswara Rao. Since becoming the Janata Party President in December 2022, Chaturvedi has been actively supporting Naidu’s return in various capacities. He instructed the local Janata Party unit to collaborate with the TDP. During the ceremony, he also met industrialist Sajjan Jindal and discussed potential opportunities for the Jindal Group in Amaravati. Additionally, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Jayakrishna Giri Maharaj from the Vrindavan Banke Bihari Temple attended the event with special offerings for Naidu.
Following Chandrababu Naidu, actor and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan took the oath as Deputy Chief Minister. Naidu’s government includes 23 ministers, with 19 from the TDP, three from Jana Sena including Pawan Kalyan, and one from the BJP. One ministerial position remains vacant. Naidu’s son and TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh was also appointed as a minister. Other cabinet members include TDP Andhra Pradesh President K. Atchannaidu and Jana Sena Party’s Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar. The TDP ministers feature 17 new faces. The Jana Sena ministers are Pawan Kalyan, Nadendla Manohar, and Kandula Durgesh, while BJP’s sole minister is Satya Kumar Yadav. Naidu’s cabinet includes three women and one Muslim representative, N Mohammad Farooq.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, the TDP allied with Jana Sena and the BJP to decisively defeat Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government. The NDA won 164 out of 175 seats in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, with TDP securing 135 seats, Jana Sena 21, and BJP 8 seats. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP managed to win only 11 seats, while the Congress failed to secure any seats
