Nine-Day Rajasthan Utsav 2025 begins at Bikaner House, New Delhi

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will formally inaugurate the nine-day Rajasthan Utsav 2025 at Bikaner House, New Delhi, on Wednesday. The festival will offer a vibrant showcase of Rajasthan’s rich traditional culture, featuring its art, crafts, cuisine, and folk performances.

Additional Resident Commissioner of Rajasthan in Delhi, Mrs. Anju Omprakash, stated that, like every year, this festival is being organized from March 25 to April 2 to commemorate Rajasthan Foundation Day. The event will feature the Rajeevika Craft Fair and a Food Festival.

Sports and Food Competitions to be Organized

The Additional Resident Commissioner added that, considering last year’s enthusiastic response from visitors, this year’s festival will once again host painting competitions, mehendi (henna) competitions, and golgappa (pani puri) eating contests, along with traditional games. Winners of these competitions will be awarded consolation prizes.

Rajasthani Cultural Evening

Assistant Director of the Rajasthan Tourism Center, Mr. Chhatarpal Yadav said that a cultural evening will be organized by the Rajasthan Tourism Department on Wednesday evening. Folk artists from various regions of Rajasthan will present their performances.

The cultural evening will begin with ‘Ganesh Vandana,’ followed by the Mayur (peacock) dance and the famous Phoolon Ki Holi (Flower Holi), performed by Mr. Naveen Sharma from Bharatpur. Following this, Mr. Awadhesh Kumar, also from Bharatpur, will present the Charkula dance. Additionally, Mr. Ghaffaruddin Mewati from Deeg will showcase Bhapang Vadan, and Mr. Arjun Singh Julia from Suratgarh will perform Mashan Vadan.
Tourist Officer Mr. Manoj Sharma mentioned that besides performers from Rajasthan, Mr. Aneesuddin and his group from Delhi will present the Chari dance. Furthermore, Ms. Kalpana Chauhan will perform Rajasthan’s famous Ghoomar dance.

Exhibition of Handcrafted Products

The festival will also feature an exhibition and sale of handcrafted products representing Rajasthani culture and folk art, organized by the Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council (Rajeevika).
