OnePlus announced the launch of a new software series for its smartphones and tablets in India and other regions on Wednesday. With this new initiative, eligible devices will now receive monthly software updates, in addition to regular updates and security patches. This series will also introduce OnePlus’s proprietary apps and new features to the supported devices. This development aligns with a series of recent device launches by OnePlus, including the OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus Pad 2, and new editions of the OnePlus Open and OnePlus 12R.
Monthly Software Updates from OnePlus
In a post on its community forum, OnePlus introduced versions U120P01 and U120P02, a new software series designed to provide monthly updates for its smartphones. According to the company, these updates will bypass the traditional over-the-air (OTA) process, delivering new features and enhancements directly to the devices.
The phased rollout of these monthly updates began on August 2. Users in the Asia-Pacific region, including India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore, will receive notifications, along with those in Middle Eastern countries such as the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
