Fifteen days after the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched a fierce retaliation under Operation Sindoor, targeting and destroying nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation began at 1:44 AM on Monday and was carried out jointly by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally monitored every development of the mission.

Lightning Strikes on Terror Bases

According to sources, the airstrikes were conducted in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sialkot in Pakistan, and several areas in PoK. The primary targets were training camps and launchpads of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. India has claimed that all nine targets were destroyed.

The 9 Terror Camps Destroyed:
  • Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur – Jaish-e-Mohammed’s headquarters, also the residence of Masood Azhar and his family. Several attacks including Pulwama were plotted here.
  • Markaz Tayyaba, Muridke – Lashkar’s largest training centre, reportedly funded by Osama bin Laden.
  • Sarjal / Tehra Kalan (Narowal) – A key Jaish launchpad used for infiltrations into Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Mahmuna Zoya Centre, Sialkot – A Hizbul base used to send militants into Jammu region.
  • Markaz Ahle Hadis, Barnala – A Lashkar training centre in PoK, launching terrorists into Poonch-Rajouri.
  • Markaz Abbas, Kotli – A Jaish facility where wanted terrorist Qari Zarrar planned attacks.
  • Maskar Raheel Shahid, Kotli – An old Hizbul training centre that could accommodate over 200 militants.
  • Shawai Nallah Camp, Muzaffarabad – A key Lashkar hub that trained terrorists like Ajmal Kasab.
  • Markaz Sayyedna Bilal, Muzaffarabad – A Jaish transit camp used to send terrorists into India.
