Pakistan opens fire along Line of Control: The Indian Army has given a firm response after the Pakistan Army opened fire at multiple locations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. According to official sources, the firing involved small arms and was effectively retaliated against by Indian forces. No casualties have been reported, and further details are being gathered.

This incident comes at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, following a recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region, where 26 civilians were brutally killed, which has led to a deterioration in bilateral relations.

In the wake of the Pahalgam killings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack and asserted that those responsible—including terrorists, their supporters, and collaborators—would not be spared. He emphasized that perpetrators will face justice, no matter where they are.

The search for the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack entered its fourth day on Friday, with a large-scale anti-terror operation underway in the Baisaran meadow area. Additional security operations are also ongoing in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir to eliminate terrorist threats.

On Thursday, an encounter took place in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district between security forces and militants. One Indian soldier lost his life after sustaining critical injuries during the joint operation, which was launched based on specific intelligence and carried out in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The operation is still in progress.

Meanwhile, another encounter also took place in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday. However, no reports of fresh gunfire have emerged from the area since Friday morning.

In Poonch district, another counter-terror operation has been launched. Currently, at least three major anti-terror drives are underway across the valley, with the primary focus on tracking down those responsible for the Pahalgam massacre.
