New Delhi: 28th October 2024
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez held a roadshow in Vadodara, Gujarat, on Monday before Inaugurating the Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) facility’s assembly line plant for the C295 aircraft’s final assembly.
The roadway, 2.5 km long, from the airport to the TASL was lined with culture representatives and supporters, waving to the two leaders, as they proceeded along the road. The complex that manufactures C-295 aircraft by TAS, India’s first private sector final assembly line for military aircraft, will be inaugurated. Under the agreement, the Vadodara factory would assemble 40 aircraft, with the aviation company Airbus delivering 16 of them directly.
These 40 aircraft are being built in the nation by TATA Advanced Systems Limited, which would also be India’s first private sector military aircraft final assembly line (FAL).
The aircraft will be developed through the integrated system of manufacture, assembly and qualification testing, delivery, and maintenance through its life cycle.
Leading defense public sector companies like Bharat Electronics and Bharat Dynamics, as well as private micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, will also contribute to this program in addition to Tatas.
