PM Modi Performs ‘Dandavat Pranam’ at Ayodhya’s Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple

Prime Minister Modi paid his respects by performing the traditional ‘Dandavat Pranam’ (prostration with head touching the floor) at the Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple in Ayodhya. The consecration of the new Ram Lalla idol took place at the Ayodhya temple on Monday, attracting viewers from across the country who watched the event on television in their homes and temples. As the ‘Mukhya Yajman’ (main participant), PM Modi actively participated in the ‘pran pratishtha’ rituals, joined by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Accompanied by a silver ‘chattar’ (umbrella) and draped in a golden kurta paired with a cream dhoti and patka, the prime minister entered the temple premises. After taking the ‘sankalp’ for the “pran pratishtha ceremony,” he proceeded to the sanctum sanctorum to perform the rituals.
