With a firm hand on the throttle of progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to launch a fleet of 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains, embarking on a journey to connect hearts and minds across the nation. From the vibrant streets of Ahmedabad to the bustling terminals of Mumbai Central, this initiative promises to forge new pathways of connectivity and opportunity.
As the engine of innovation roars to life, these 10 additions swell the ranks of Vande Bharat Express trains to over 50, traversing a network of 45 routes that crisscross the length and breadth of India. Spanning 24 states and reaching 256 districts, the tracks of progress are laid upon Broad Gauge (BG) electrified networks, weaving a tapestry of unity and accessibility.
Among the unveiled routes, destinations such as Delhi-Katra, Delhi-Varanasi, and Mumbai-Ahmedabad stand as beacons of connectivity, with twin Vande Bharat trains poised to ply the tracks soon after inauguration. This expansion echoes the spirit of December 2023, when PM Modi inaugurated six additional Vande Bharat trains, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to seamless connectivity.
The list of unveiled routes reads like a poetic ode to progress:
- Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central
- Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam
- Mysuru- Dr. MGR Central (Chennai)
- Patna- Lucknow
- New Jalpaiguri-Patna
- Puri-Visakhapatnam
- Lucknow – Dehradun
- Kalaburagi – Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru
- Ranchi-Varanasi
- Khajuraho- Delhi (Nizamuddin)
In addition to these launches, the extension of four Vande Bharat trains further expands the horizon of connectivity:
Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat, now stretching till Dwarka
Ajmer- Delhi Sarai Rohilla Vande Bharat, extending its reach to Chandigarh
Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat, now linking to Prayagraj
Thiruvananthapuram- Kasargod Vande Bharat, now stretching till Mangaluru
