Press Club of India’s Inaugural Literary Festival and Book Fair Concludes on a high note , Promises Bigger Event in 2026

The highlight of the festival was ₹10 lakh in book sales, alongside 12 book launches and 18 Publishers participated

New Delhi, 3 March 2025

The Press Club of India’s (PCI) first-ever 3 Day Literary Festival and Book Fair, held from February 29 to March 2, concluded with resounding success, drawing over 80 publishers, booksellers, and literary enthusiasts. The event created a dynamic platform for exploring the intersection of journalism and literature, featuring engaging discussions, book launches, and interactive workshops.

With sessions focused on press freedom, investigative journalism, and the power of literature in shaping public discourse, the festival provided a space for both journalists and authors to discuss key issues in media and literature.

“This inaugural event exceeded all expectations. The conversations here reaffirmed the deep connection between journalism and literature,” said Gautam Lahiri, President of PCI. “We’re already planning for next year’s festival with more energy and enthusiasm.”

A highlight of the festival was the ₹10 lakh in book sales, alongside 12 book launches from authors like Jai Singh, Rohini Singh, and Masoom Muradabadi & participation of 18 Book Publishers.

“We’re thrilled with the turnout and the energy that was present throughout the festival,” said Neeraj Thakur, Secretary-General of PCI. “What started as a celebration of journalism’s literary legacy has now become a major cultural event, and we’re committed to making it bigger and more inclusive in the future.”

Jitendra Singh, Secretary of PCI, added, “The highlight of the festival was ₹10 lakh in book sales, alongside 12 book launches from authors like Jai Singh, Rohini Singh, and Masoom Muradabadi & 18 Book Publishers participated.
The festival provided a vibrant platform for thought-provoking discussions on the role of books and journalism in today’s world. We’re excited to make this an annual event.”

In her vote of thanks, Sangeeta Barooah Pisharoty, Vice President of PCI, expressed gratitude to all contributors, including publishers, booksellers, and participants, while emphasizing PCI’s commitment to improving and expanding the festival in future editions.

With the success of this year’s event, PCI has confirmed that the Literary Festival will be held annually, with plans for broader participation and representation in 2026.
