New Delhi: 5 June 2024
In a heartfelt message, Congresswoman Priyanka Gandhi Vadra thanked her brother Rahul Gandhi for his contribution to the party’s outstanding performance in the Lok Sabha election and declared herself to be a proud sister. The post of gratitude was published the day after Mr. Gandhi informed the press that his sister was a major contributor to the party’s strong performance in Uttar Pradesh.
“You stood your ground in the face of everything they said and did to you; you never gave up no matter how hard things got, you never stopped believing even when they doubted it, you never stopped fighting for the truth in the face of their relentless propaganda, and you never let hatred and rage win, even when they gave it to you on a daily basis. You fought from the heart, with kindness, truth, and love. While some of us have always seen you and know you to be the bravest of all, many who were unable to see you now see you.
@RahulGandhi, Ms. Gandhi Vadra wrote in a post on X, “I am Proud to be your sister.”
The Gandhi siblings Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge have guided the party to its best Lok Sabha polling result in ten years. This time, the party secured 99 seats, a significant increase from its 52 seats in 2019. Additionally, the Congress-affiliated INDIA group disregarded all exit polls in order to obtain a count of 232, depriving the BJP of a majority on its own.

According to Congress President Kharge, the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Mr. Gandhi served as the impetus for the party’s campaign.
The Prime Minister and other BJP leaders verbally attacked her, and Priyanka Gandhi was instrumental in fending them off. In two prestigious Uttar Pradesh seats, Amethi and Raebareli, she oversaw the party’s campaign as well. Raebareli was won by Mr. Gandhi by 3.9 lakh votes, but Amethi was retained by the Congress under KL Sharma, having previously been lost to the BJP under Smriti Irani.
Mr Gandhi brought up her sister’s involvement. “In Uttar Pradesh, my sister Priyanka had a big role,” he stated.
