Singer and reality show personality Rahul Vaidya has called Virat Kohli and his fans “jokers” on social media, following a wave of online abuse that allegedly targeted not only him but also his wife and sister. The incident began when Vaidya posted an Instagram story referencing Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, which led to backlash from Kohli’s followers.

Vaidya had shared an Instagram story as a humorous take on the viral “like” controversy, which Kohli later dismissed as an algorithm glitch. In the story, he mentioned that he had been blocked by Kohli on Instagram and jokingly suggested that the block might have been the result of an algorithm error. The post quickly circulated and did not go well with Kohli’s fans, who began trolling the singer. To which, in the now-deleted Instagram story, Vaidya wrote:

“Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat! 🤡”

According to Vaidya, the abuse was not only directed at him but also at his wife and sister, both of whom had no involvement in the issue. He mentioned that the trolling included vulgar language and deeply personal insults. In response, he chose to call these fans “jokers,” stating that it was a restrained reply compared to the abuse he and his family were enduring.

Vaidya later clarified that his intent was not to use offensive language but to express his frustration in a more measured way. He emphasized that, while he continues to admire Virat Kohli as a cricketer, he no longer supports him as a person, particularly after the conduct of some of his supporters.
