In celebration of Raksha Bandhan, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is extending a thoughtful gesture to women across the state by offering complimentary bus services today. From midnight on August 18 through midnight on August 19, women can travel free of charge on state-run buses. To accommodate this initiative, over 300 additional buses have been deployed, with increased service frequency to ensure a smooth and convenient journey for all.
Recognizing the need for extra capacity on busy routes, the government has ordered the deployment of additional buses where demand is highest. Women passengers will also have access to 90 CNG and 35 electric buses as part of this special service.
Early risers in Bhainsali can catch the first bus to Bijnor and Najibabad, which started at 5:30 AM on Sunday, August 18, with departures every 30 minutes until 9 PM. For those heading to Shamli, buses will be available every half hour until 8:30 PM. Meanwhile, travelers on the Meerut-Delhi expressway route will find buses running every 40 minutes.
