MILESTONE, in collaboration with Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, proudly conducted a successful rally and plantation drive at BK Ganjoo Park, Gole Market, Delhi, in celebration of Environment Day. The event, focused on the theme of Land Restoration, also marked June as Environment Month, drawing attention to the importance of environmental conservation for a sustainable future.
Over 125 participants joined the rally, engaging in various activities to raise awareness about environmental issues. The youth chanted slogans, and the MILESTONE Nukkad Natak group performed a powerful street play, highlighting the challenges and solutions related to the environment crisis. This impactful performance emphasized the urgency of environment to the youth.
The event was honored by esteemed guests, including Mr. Rajesh (LDM New Delhi, Canara Bank), Mr. Vinod Kumar (Leprosy Councillor, CDMO Office), Dr. Vinita Kumari (Sr. Gynecologist, Lady Harding Hospital), and Ms. Anita Relan (FLC, Canara Bank). Their support and insights on environmental conservation added value and motivation to the participants which inspired the youth to actively engage in environmental conservation.
The highlight of the event was the tree plantation drive, where 200 plants were planted today on the occasion. This initiative was the critical need for more green spaces within our communities with a commitment to serve the environment.
The rally and plantation drive not only raised awareness but also engaged the community to be involved in the protection of the environment.
The event concluded with all participants taking an oath towards the environment to serve and plant more trees, and ensure its protection.
