This happened during a live YouTube mock auction, where RCB brought in Warner and Boult, and dropped Faf and Siraj
Team India’s star spinner, R. Ashwin, recently hosted a mock IPL 2025 auction on his YouTube channel, and it was packed with surprises. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made bold moves, “buying” Australian opener David Warner and New Zealand pacer Trent Boult in this mock setup.

RCB spent ₹5 crore on Warner and ₹13.50 crore on Boult. With Warner likely to partner Virat Kohli at the top, fans are already excited about the potential fireworks. The team also added all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer for ₹12 crore and brought back Will Jacks for ₹7.5 crore.

In this mock auction, RCB made big changes, releasing captain Faf du Plessis and ace bowler Mohammed Siraj. This left gaps for an opener and a strike bowler, which Ashwin’s mock picks filled perfectly.
Warner’s RCB Connection
Interestingly, Warner has always been a thorn in RCB’s side, scoring 985 runs against them in IPL history — the most by any player. After shining for Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad (where he won a title), Warner could bring the experience RCB needs to finally lift the trophy.
While this was just a fun exercise, it’s got fans curious: Could these picks become reality in IPL 2025? Only time will tell, but the buzz is building!
