Loud car explosion near Red Fort Gate 1, Delhi on Nov 10, 2025 at 6:45 PM. Fire engulfed 4 vehicles; no injuries. Police probe mechanical failure, not terror

Delhi: A loud explosion rocked a parked car near Gate 1 of Lal Qila Metro Station, close to the historic Red Fort, around 6:45 PM on Monday. The blast triggered a fire that engulfed the vehicle and spread to 3-4 nearby cars.

Delhi Fire Services rushed five fire tenders and doused the flames within 45 minutes. No casualties or injuries have been reported. Shattered glass was seen at the metro entrance and nearby shops.

Police have cordoned off the area. Initial probe suggests a possible mechanical failure; no terror link confirmed. Investigation underway with forensic and bomb squad teams. CCTV footage being reviewed.

The area remains under tight security.
