CM Yogi Adityanath Had Visited the Ailing Priest

Who was Acharya Satyendra Das?

Acharya Satyendra Das, 83, was an eminent mahant of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. He had been in charge of the temple even before the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992.
He was a devoted saint from the Nirvani Akhara and had dedicated his life to religious service since the age of 20.
Respected widely, Acharya Satyendra Das was among the most accessible seers from Ayodhya who were frequently sought for comments about Ayodhya and the Ram temple developments by the media.
He was also one of the first Hindu priests to oppose the petition to ban ISKCON in Bangladesh. Earlier this year, Acharya Satyendra Das was present during the first anniversary celebrations commemorating the Pran Pratistha ceremony at the Ayodhya Temple on January 11. His death is a crucial loss to the immediate religious and spiritual community of Ayodhya.
