Republic Day: Restrictions Implemented in Noida, Entry of Heavy Vehicles Prohibited on Yamuna Expressways, Check Schedule

In anticipation of security concerns, various restrictions have been enforced in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad leading up to Republic Day 2024. As part of these measures, the movement of heavy goods vehicles has been restricted on both the Yamuna Expressway and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway from 7 AM on January 25 until the conclusion of the Republic Day Parade in Delhi on January 26. The Noida traffic police clarified that vehicles transporting essential goods would be exempt from this ban.

These restrictions were implemented a day after the traffic police issued a warning about potential diversions on the expressways on January 25 (Thursday) due to the movement of dignitaries along the route.

PM Modi to Visit Bulandshahr Today

A prior traffic advisory had been issued in Noida for January 25, as Prime Minister Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other ministers were scheduled to be present in the Bulandshahr district for the launch of the Lok Sabha campaign of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh. In response, the Noida traffic police released an advisory urging commuters to avoid the expressways and take alternative routes.

According to the traffic advisory, essential service vehicles allowed during this period include those transporting LPG, CNG, and other petroleum products, as well as vehicles of the education department carrying examination supplies, and those carrying milk and bread.

Noida Police announced that security along the borders, as well as vehicle inspections along the Delhi-Noida border, will be intensified in preparation for the Republic Day ceremony.

Commuters traveling between Noida and Delhi have already been experiencing significant congestion near the borders in recent days due to security checks leading up to Republic Day.
