Following the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympics, a wave of speculation spread across social media after India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra was seen with shooter Manu Bhaker and her mother at a post-event gathering. The interaction between the trio led to widespread rumors, with many suggesting that a marriage between Neeraj and Manu could be in the works.
However, these speculations were promptly dismissed by Manu’s father, Ram Kishan, who clarified that his daughter is too young for marriage. “Manu is still very young. She is not even of marriageable age. We are not even thinking about it right now,” he told Dainik Bhaskar, effectively putting an end to the rumors.

In videos that circulated on social media, Manu’s mother appeared to share a close bond with Neeraj. Ram Kishan explained that Manu’s mother regards Neeraj as a son, which explains their warm interaction. “Manu’s mother considers Neeraj like her son,” he said, emphasizing the familial bond and dismissing any romantic speculation.
Neeraj’s uncle also commented on the marriage rumors, stating, “Just as the whole country celebrated when Neeraj won his medal, everyone will know when he decides to marry.”
Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra were among India’s most successful athletes at the Paris Games. Despite both feeling they could have performed better in their respective events, they still achieved significant success, with Manu earning two bronze medals in shooting and Neeraj adding a silver to his previous Olympic gold.
