Earlier this year, the Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane starrer Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released. The movie was well received by the audience, especially the younger generation, and following its success, reports began circulating about a potential sequel with the same star cast.

However, amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan following “Operation Sindoor”, Harshvardhan Rane has declined to be part of the sequel. He stated that if the original cast is retained, he will not return to the project.

On May 10, Harshvardhan Rane shared his views on Instagram, stating:
“Although I am thankful for the experience, after reading direct comments passed about my country, I have decided to respectfully decline to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam 2 if the earlier cast is reassembled.”

Harshvardhan Rane said he will not be the part of the movie if the cast remains same

When Sanam Teri Kasam originally released in 2016, it received a modest response at the box office. However, over the years, it gained a strong fan base due to its emotional plot, heartfelt performances, and iconic soundtrack. Upon its re-release on February 7, 2025, the film outperformed its initial box office run, sparking widespread rumors of a sequel.
