As the Delhi Assembly elections draw closer, BJP leader and former Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay, who is contesting from the Malviya Nagar constituency, launched a scathing critique of the Aam Aadmi Party’s governance over the past decade. Speaking at a press conference at his election office, Upadhyay highlighted what he called the failures of the ruling party while presenting his detailed roadmap to transform Malviya Nagar into a model constituency.
Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047 and the aspirations of Digital India, Upadhyay laid out his plans to tackle the pressing issues faced by residents of Malviya Nagar. He accused the AAP of failing to deliver on its promises, leaving basic amenities like clean water and proper sewer systems in a dire state. He pointed out that the dream of turning Delhi into a global city like Paris or London has become a distant mirage as people continue to struggle with fundamental issues such as contaminated water, broken roads, and severe waterlogging during the monsoons.
The BJP candidate also took aim at the health infrastructure in the constituency, criticizing the state of Mohalla Clinics, which he claimed lack doctors and essential medicines. He argued that the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat scheme have not reached Delhi’s residents, leaving them deprived of critical healthcare services. Upadhyay also alleged that the AAP government has failed to address the rising costs of electricity and water bills, while the city’s infrastructure continues to crumble. According to him, the lack of innovation and platforms for the youth has contributed to a decline in the city’s happiness index.
Unveiling his vision for Malviya Nagar, Upadhyay emphasized the need for urgent solutions to improve infrastructure, health services, and public amenities. He spoke of plans to ensure clean drinking water through regular quality checks and to resolve issues of garbage heaps and clogged drains with permanent solutions. He stressed the importance of making roads pothole-free, controlling traffic in crowded areas, and increasing the availability of public transport, particularly DTC buses, to cater to the growing population.
Upadhyay also addressed the issue of stalled ration card registrations, which have been inactive for years, promising to revive the process and ensure that new ration cards are issued to those in need. He pledged to improve healthcare services by ensuring the mandatory presence of doctors in health centers and establishing multispecialty medical facilities to serve the community effectively.
The BJP leader announced that he would soon begin his “Jan Ashirwad Padyatra,” a door-to-door campaign aimed at connecting with the residents of all ten wards in the constituency. Through this initiative, Upadhyay plans to personally reach out to voters, listen to their grievances, and share his vision for a progressive Malviya Nagar.
Concluding his address, Upadhyay called for an end to what he described as years of mismanagement and neglect under AAP’s rule. He urged voters to choose a government that prioritizes their needs, provides solutions to their problems, and works tirelessly to make their lives better. “The people of Malviya Nagar deserve better, and I am here to ensure that their voices are heard and their issues are resolved,” he said, promising a brighter and more prosperous future for the constituency.
