Apple introduces three distinct models for 2025, each balancing design, performance, cameras, and price.
Apple has launched the iPhone 17 series in India, offering three models—the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro. While all three devices share some common features like bright OLED displays and powerful processors, each is designed with a unique audience in mind. Here’s a detailed look at how they differ.
Design and Display
iPhone 17: Features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with 120Hz ProMotion for smooth scrolling and up to 3,000 nits brightness. It has an aluminum body and comes in five colors: Black, Lavender, Mist Blue, Sage, and White.
iPhone Air: Marketed as the thinnest iPhone ever at just 5.6 mm and weighing 165 grams, the Air uses a titanium frame for strength without extra bulk. It has a slightly larger 6.5-inch OLED display with slimmer bezels and better anti-reflection coating. Available colors are Sky Blue, Light Gold, Cloud White, and Space Black.
iPhone 17 Pro: Designed for professionals, it comes with an aluminum unibody and offers both a 6.3-inch Pro and 6.9-inch Pro Max model. The Pro stands out with premium finishes like Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver.

Performance and Chipset
iPhone 17 runs on Apple’s latest A19 chip, delivering fast and efficient performance for everyday use, gaming, and streaming.
iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro are powered by the A19 Pro chip, which offers extra speed, smoother multitasking, and better power efficiency. The Pro models also feature advanced cooling technology for heavy-duty tasks like editing videos or gaming for long hours.
Camera Upgrades
iPhone 17: Comes with dual 48MP Fusion rear cameras (wide + ultra-wide) and a new 18MP front camera with Apple’s “Center Stage” for video calls.
iPhone Air: Features a simpler setup with a single 48MP rear camera and the same 18MP front camera.
iPhone 17 Pro: Offers a triple-camera system—wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto, all at 48MP. It supports 4x optical zoom, RAW photography, and ProRes video recording, making it the most advanced option for photography and filmmaking.
Battery and Storage
iPhone 17: Lasts up to 30 hours of video playback.
iPhone Air: Slightly shorter at around 27 hours, mainly due to its slimmer design.
iPhone 17 Pro: Delivers the longest battery life in the lineup, thanks to a larger battery and better efficiency.
All three models start with 256 GB storage, with the Pro going up to a huge 2 TB option.
Price in India
- iPhone 17: Starting at ₹82,900
