Renowned Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was honored with the prestigious Best Actor award at the 2024 Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards (DPIFF) for his outstanding performance in Atlee’s film “Jawan.” In a touching speech captured by a fan account, Shah Rukh expressed his gratitude to the jury for recognizing him after a long break from receiving such a prestigious accolade. Known for his charm both on and off the screen, he humorously remarked, “It’s been many years since I received the Best Actor award, and it felt like I might never get it again.” He also jokingly mentioned his own affinity for awards, saying, “Let’s share it, Vinod,” referring to filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s reputation for being fond of awards.
Expressing his happiness, Shah Rukh thanked the entire team behind “Jawan” and acknowledged the collaborative effort required to bring a film to life. He pledged to continue working hard and entertaining audiences with a variety of roles, from dancing to portraying complex characters.
Reflecting on his recent journey in cinema, the actor mentioned his comeback to the big screen with “Pathaan” in January 2023, which enjoyed remarkable success at the box office. Following that, “Jawan” hit theaters in September and surpassed the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide. In December, Shah Rukh Khan starred in “Dunki,” further solidifying his impact on the Indian film industry.
