Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Jawan” has achieved a remarkable milestone in its box office run, marking 50 days of glorious success worldwide. Released on September 7, the movie directed by Atlee has etched its name in Indian cinema history. It has become the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of all time and is the second film this year to surpass the remarkable milestone of Rs 1000 crore in worldwide box office earnings. This achievement is a testament to the movie’s immense popularity and Shah Rukh Khan’s illustrious 31-year career.
According to the trade website sacnilk, “Jawan” has raked in a massive Rs 1146 crore worldwide in just 50 days. The film’s success extends beyond India, with approximately Rs 640 crore net earnings within the country and around Rs 387 crore in international markets. Such performance is truly exceptional, as very few films manage to cross the Rs 1000 crore benchmark, making it a historic accomplishment for the global film industry. “Jawan” made an impressive debut, collecting Rs 692 crore in its first week at the worldwide box office, with Rs 465 crore coming from India alone. The film, featuring Vijay Sethupathy, Sanya Malhotra, Nayanthara, and others, continues to draw audiences with 500 shows still playing in India, marking another remarkable achievement.
In 2023, “Jawan” stands as the highest-grossing film, and the only contenders that could challenge its box office dominance are “Tiger 3,” “Salaar Part I: Ceasefire,” and SRK’s own “Dunki.” If Rajkumar Hirani’s “Tiger 3” manages to surpass “Jawan” as the year’s biggest Indian film, it would make Shah Rukh Khan the only actor with three consecutive highest-grossing movies in a single year. Notably, “Jawan” is the second film to cross the Rs 1000 crore milestone at the box office, following SRK’s “Pathaan,” which earned over Rs 1055 crore worldwide.
