Shahid Kapoor has admitted that he hasn’t come across any compelling roles since the success of Kabir Singh in 2019, which was a blockbuster hit. The actor is currently on a quest to find a script that not only excites him but also offers something genuinely new to his audience. Despite diligently reviewing ten scripts a month, Shahid faces challenges in the film industry, particularly in the realm of love stories, which he acknowledges as the most difficult genre for an artist.
During the recent trailer launch event for his upcoming film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid discussed the difficulty of finding light and fun roles while expressing a desire to explore beyond the intense love story that characterized Kabir Singh. Despite the popularity of love stories, Shahid revealed that they pose intricate challenges for an artist in terms of offering something innovative to the audience.
The actor reflected on the groundbreaking success of Kabir Singh, recognizing the uniqueness of the character and storyline. Post-Kabir Singh, he struggled to find similarly exciting projects until he came across the script for his upcoming film. In this new romantic comedy, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid plays a man who falls in love and decides to marry a robot named Sifra, played by Kriti Sanon. The film, described as an “impossible love story,” is written and directed by first-time filmmakers Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the movie also features Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is scheduled to release in theaters on February 9.
