Aditya Narayan has faced significant criticism since last week following an incident at a concert in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The singer, who was performing at a college, snatched a student’s phone and threw it into the crowd. He later responded to the criticism by stating that he wasn’t accountable to anyone. Now, the student involved has spoken out about the incident. Contrary to claims by the event manager that the student had hit Aditya, the student clarified that he was simply asking for a selfie.
In an interview with Zoom, the student, named Lovkesh Chandravanshi, explained that Aditya was taking selfies with attendees during the concert. He mentioned that he also wanted a selfie and attempted to give his phone to the singer. “I was standing in front of the stage during the concert. Aditya sir was performing and taking everyone’s phones to click selfies,” the student said.
Chandravanshi, a third-year BSc student at Rungta College, stated that he approached Aditya for a selfie because the singer was taking selfies with other students. He recounted how he offered his phone, but Aditya hit his hand with the microphone and threw his phone away without reason. “Since I was near the stage, I thought he would take a selfie with me too, so I gave him my phone,” he added.
The student further explained that Aditya continued taking selfies with others as if nothing had happened. Chandravanshi emphasized, “No one actually hit him. We were simply offering our phones for selfies, and he was accommodating. Even after he threw my phone, he continued taking selfies with others. Only he knows what his mood was like.” He also declared that he would never attend Aditya’s concert again.
Previously, the event manager had claimed that Chandravanshi was bothering Aditya by grabbing his feet. However, Aditya’s stance on the incident remains unchanged. In his statement, he hinted at feeling no remorse, stating, “Honestly, no comments. I am answerable to the Almighty.”
