Meet Sripathi, who at the age of 23, has become Tamil Nadu’s first tribal woman to serve as a civil judge. Her remarkable journey was celebrated by Chief Minister MK Stalin, who praised her determination and perseverance. Sripathi’s teacher, Mahalakshmi, played a crucial role in guiding her through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Exam, highlighting her resilience and commitment.
Even during her pregnancy, Sripathi remained dedicated to her exam preparation. Despite her delivery being scheduled close to the exam date, she gave birth just two days before the test. Despite still being under medical care, she traveled nearly 200 kilometers from Chennai to Thiruvannamalai to sit for the exam. Her unwavering determination paid off as she succeeded in her mission.
Chief Minister M K Stalin took to Twitter to express his admiration and congratulations for Sripathi’s achievement, emphasizing the government’s priority on providing opportunities for Tamil-educated individuals. Sripathi’s upbringing in Thurinjikuppam village and Yelagiri Hills, along with her father’s humble occupation as a housekeeper, underscores her journey’s significance. Despite early marriage, she pursued her education with the unwavering support of her husband and mother.
Upon her return to her hometown, Sripathi was warmly welcomed with a procession led by schoolchildren and villagers, symbolizing the pride and honor she brought to her family and the entire tribal community. Her father, overwhelmed with joy, expressed his happiness and pride in his daughter’s accomplishment, highlighting the significance of her success for their family and society.
