According to reports, the incident was triggered by an altercation between a youth and park staff near Hamirgarh village on the Chittorgarh-Bhilwara highway. The disagreement, reportedly over free entry, escalated when the youth was allegedly assaulted by park employees. In response, approximately 150 young men from Soniyana and nearby villages converged on the park and initiated the destructive raid.

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene but were initially unable to disperse the large crowd. An official stated that a case has been registered and that CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify those involved in the attack.
