Delhi Traffic Update: Heavy rainfall earlier this morning has resulted in severe waterlogging across various parts of Delhi, leading to significant traffic disruptions. Areas such as Bhikaji Cama Place, Motibagh Ring Road, Parliament Street, and Ashoka Road are notably affected.
Early morning downpours led to substantial water accumulation, with Delhi University area recording 89.5 mm and IGNOU area 34.5 mm of rain by 6:30 AM on Friday.
Due to the extensive waterlogging, traffic is moving slowly in multiple areas. The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to steer clear of Ch. Fateh Singh Marg, Vandematram Marg Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan flyover, and the vicinity of Minto Bridge.
Implemented Traffic Diversions
In response to the waterlogging, the following traffic diversions have been put in place:
- Vehicles traveling from Connaught Place to Minto Road are being redirected to Outer Circle Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road towards Turkman Gate/Kamla Market via Ranjeet Singh Flyover.
- Traffic from R/A Kamla Market on Minto Road is being diverted to DDU Marg towards Connaught Place via Ranjeet Singh Flyover.
Motorists are urged to stay calm, adhere to traffic regulations, maintain road discipline, and follow instructions from traffic personnel stationed at key intersections.
