In the upcoming movie Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, Rani (Taapsee Pannu) and Rishu (Vikrant Massey) are set to dive deeper into their tumultuous relationship. Directed by Jayprad Desai and penned by Kanika Dhillon, this follow-up continues to explore the lives of the star-crossed lovers from the original film. The trailer, released on Thursday, hints at Rani and Rishu’s attempt to escape their troubled past, only to find themselves entangled in new challenges. Their quest for a peaceful life is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious figure, Abhimanyu (Sunny Kaushal), who disturbs their tranquility.
Adding to the tension is Officer Mritunjay, aka Montu Chacha (Jimmy Shergill), a determined cop with a personal grudge, who is intent on unraveling their tangled web of lies, betrayal, and deceit. As law enforcement closes in, Rani and Rishu are forced to revert to their old, devious tactics to stay together, raising the question of who they can trust in a dangerous world. As the mystery unfolds, the crucial question remains: How far will they go for love?

ICYMI: The first film, Haseen Dilruba, featured Taapsee Pannu as Rani, Vikrant Massey as her husband Rishabh, and Harshvardhan Rane as her lover, Neel Tripathi. In that installment, Rani marries Rishabh, a small-town man who is infatuated with her, but their marriage lacks passion. Harshvardhan Rane’s character complicates their relationship, leading Rani and Rishabh to devise a plan inspired by her favorite murder mystery novel.
The sequel is set to be released on August 9 and also stars Jimmy Shergill in a key role.
