RFID cards required, helicopter operations suspended, journey declared ‘no-fly zone’
First Darshan on July 3; Yatra to Continue for 38 Days Until Raksha Bandhan
Medical Stations, Oxygen Booths, Tents, and Langars Fully Set Up for Pilgrims
New Delhi: 30 June 2025
The craze of spiritual fervor around Amarnath Yatra 2025 is real. Devotees of Lord Shiva are preparing to embark on the sacred journey to the holy cave shrine. The first batch of yatris will depart from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas, Jammu, on July 2. The journey will be flagged off by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Preparations across all levels have reached their final stage.
Route Repair and Safety Measures in Place
Both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes leading to the cave shrine have been repaired, and safety railings have been installed along risky patches. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and the administration have ensured the route is ready to handle the large footfall.
Medical and Oxygen Support for High-Altitude Trek
To address the challenges of high altitude and steep climbs, 26 oxygen booths have been set up—16 on the Baltal route and 10 on the Pahalgam route. In addition, 50 medical stations, including base hospitals and mobile medical units, are in place to provide round-the-clock healthcare support to pilgrims.
Langars, Tents, and Essential Services Readied
Langar services offering free meals are fully operational across campsites. At Baltal and Nunwan, tents for accommodation and covered stalls for shops have been installed to meet the daily needs of devotees. Clean toilets, bathing facilities, electricity, and drinking water stations have been arranged along the entire route.
Mandatory RFID and No-Helicopter Rule for 2025
In a major step toward organized management, RFID cards have been made mandatory for pilgrims, security forces, langar workers, and service staff. To improve ground security, the yatra routes have been declared “no-fly zones,” resulting in the suspension of helicopter services this year.
Cleanliness and Camp Management Prioritized
Dedicated teams of sanitation workers have been deployed at all camps and rest stops. Langar operators have also been instructed to maintain strict hygiene standards. Camp directors and additional officers have already assumed responsibility at their respective locations to ensure smooth operations.
First Darshan on July 3, Yatra to End on August 9
The first darshan at the Amarnath cave shrine will take place on July 3 in the presence of top Shrine Board officials and administrative authorities. The pilgrimage will last 38 days and conclude on August 9th, coincided with Raksha Bandhan.
Spot Registration for Latecomers
For those who missed advance registration, an on-the-spot registration system has been arranged. Pilgrims from all parts of India are expected to start arriving in Jammu, Baltal, and Pahalgam from July 1 onward.
A Sacred Journey with Enhanced Planning
This year’s Amarnath Yatra stands out for its combination of spiritual devotion and robust logistical planning. With upgraded facilities, health support, and strong security measures, the pilgrimage promises to offer a safe and fulfilling experience for thousands of Shiva devotees.
