A special ceremony was jointly organized by the Rajendra Chintan Samiti and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) at the statue of Dr. Rajendra Prasad near Parliament House to commemorate the 140th birth anniversary of India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Eminent dignitaries paid floral tributes to Dr. Prasad, recalling his exemplary contributions and his simple yet impactful life.
Key attendees included former Haryana Chief Minister Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, MP-actor Ravi Kishan, former Delhi Minister Shri Somnath Bharti, and NDMC Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Chahal. Several notable individuals, such as poet Shivkumar Bilgrami, retired IAS officer Suresh Kumar Bhandari, author Dr. Darshini Priya, social worker Rajendra Singh Yadav, Editor Kodal Channappa, and journalist Haider Ali Ashrafi, were felicitated with mementos.
Speaking at the event, former Haryana Chief Minister Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, “Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s life epitomizes truth, dedication, and duty. His leadership not only gave India its Constitution but also established a strong democratic foundation. His ideals continue to guide our nation toward progress.”
MP-actor Ravi Kishan remarked, “On the birth anniversary of our first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, I pay my humble tributes. His sacrifice, commitment, and service to the nation inspire us to build a better India every day.”
Dr. Yoganand Shastri, former Delhi Assembly Speaker and President of the Rajendra Chintan Samiti, paid homage, stating, “Dr. Rajendra Prasad symbolized Indian culture and value systems. His life demonstrates how simplicity and discipline can achieve monumental tasks. Personalities like Dr. Prasad are rare in history, and his life will always remain a source of inspiration for every generation.”
Vijayshankar Chaturvedi, Vice President of the Rajendra Chintan Samiti, added, “From the days of the freedom struggle, Dr. Rajendra Prasad dedicated his life to serving the nation with unwavering commitment. The best tribute we can pay him is by walking the path he showed us.”
Former Delhi Minister Shri Somnath Bharti said, “Dr. Rajendra Prasad taught us through his life to remain steadfast in our duties, even in the face of the toughest challenges.”
NDMC Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Chahal stated, “The ideals and values of Dr. Rajendra Prasad inspire us to contribute meaningfully to the nation. NDMC is proud to have played a part in organizing this event.”
Retired IAS officer Suresh Kumar Bhandari paid homage, saying, “On Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s birth anniversary, I bow to his extraordinary leadership, simplicity, and spirit of service. His life is an inspiration for every Indian, and we must follow his principles to strengthen our nation.”
Journalist Haider Ali Ashrafi, one of the honorees, paid tribute by stating, “Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s ideals, simplicity, and leadership will forever inspire us.”
