Union Minister of “AYUSH” Pratap Rao Jadhav Inaugurates the Three-Day 7th International Health and Wellness Expo at Pragati Maidan in Delhi

The 7th International Health and Wellness Expo, a prestigious event organized by Namo Gange Trust, was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr Prataprao Jadhav, Hon’ble Minister of AYUSH, Government of India, at Pragati Maidan, Delhi, from 29-31 August 2024.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Padma Shri Dr. Chandrakant S. Pandav, Padma Shri Dr. Mohsin Wali, Dr. Kapil Kumar, Dr. Kavita Tyagi, Dr. Manoj Tayal, Dr. Anupam Sachdeva, Dr. Manish Kaushik, Dr. Neelam Sachdeva, Dr. Sonal Gupta, Dr. Renuka Gupta, Dr. Manoj K. Sharma, Dr. Pawan Keserwani and, Dr. Manju Keserwani, in addition to other guests.

The guests were welcomed by Mr. Vijay Sharma, Chairman of Namo Gange Trust, along with other members of the trust, including Pankaj Tripathi. Mr. Tripathi (Media In-Charge of Namo Gange Trust) also thanked all the dignitaries and the press for attending the first day of the Expo. All Namo Gange Trustees and Deepti Sharma Joshi, Global Health Director, Namo Gange Trust, were acknowledged in a prominent way. Joshi managed the proceedings on the stage.

On this occasion, the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Mr. Prataprao Jadhav elaborated that the 7th International Health and Wellness Expo is an important opportunity to create awareness about health among the masses.

Mr. Prataprao Jadhav indicated during the inauguration of the International Health and Wellness Expo that, “Healthy India” is a priority on the government agenda. Moreover, the AYUSH Ministry will soon initiate a pan-India health check-up program to identify diseases at an early stage and keep people healthy. He reiterated and encouraged people in the country to grow medicinal plants so that the country can become self-reliant.

Following the inauguration, he visited a selection of stalls and also the stall of the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), AYUSH Ministry, and obtained information about medicinal plants.

The expo was also featuring stalls set up by central and state government ministries and departments as part of “India Development and Government Welfare Scheme Expo” organized by Agritech Innovate India. This expo has 91 stalls allocated for the expo, which includes Ayurveda, horticulture, wellness, etc., set up by organizations such as CSIR, MDES, ICAR, NRDC, CDB, NMPB, Uttarakhand Forest Resource Management-JICA, etc.

The 7th International Health and Wellness Expo is the largest expo dedicated to Indian medical practices and the AYUSH field. Over the last 10 years Namo Gange has been on a mission to bring AYUSH to the masses. The expo will also feature appearances from Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and other familiar faces, and there will be several Padma Shri and Padma Vibushan awardees present as well. There will also be thousands of students participating in a three-day Arogya Symposium as part of the expo, all of whom will be advised by AYUSH scholars and professionals who can instruct in various health areas. AYUSH universities have also joined forces with NIOS to participate in this event. The Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda will be involved in the event and will have students attending as well.
