A bus accident on the Lucknow expressway in the Unnao region of Uttar Pradesh has claimed the lives of at least 18 persons.

In Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, a bus accident claimed the lives of several people. The bus carrying them collided with a milk container on the Agra-Lucknow motorway in the early hours of Wednesday, killing 18 people.
PM Modi Allocates Rs. 2 Lakh to Victims Families
PM Modi expressed sorrow over the deaths and announced an ex gratia to the families of each person who died and those who were hurt in the accident.
“The bus accident in Unnao is really painful. All those who have lost a loved one in this tragedy have my deepest condolences. May God give them strength during this difficult period,” stated a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Prime Minister stated that the next of kin of each person killed in the Unnao accident will receive an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 2 lakh from the PMNRF. The PMO said that the injured would receive Rs. 50,000.
The double-decker bus from Sitamarhi, Bihar, to Delhi collided with a milk tanker on the Agra-Lucknow Motorway in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, killing 18 people and injuring 19 others. There were around 57 people in the bus.
President Draupadi Murmu Expresses Condolences
President Droupadi Murmu also extended her condolences to the families of those killed in a bus accident in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh.
“It is deeply sad to hear about people who died in a traffic accident on the Lucknow-Agra Motorway in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh,” the President stated on X.
“My heartfelt prayers go out to the families of those who have lost a loved one all of a sudden, and I hope that the injured get well soon,” she continued.
