According to District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey, the accident took place at Marchula when the bus was traveling from Pauri to Ramnagar.

A bus carrying 45 people fell into a 200-meter-deep gorge in Uttarakhand’s Almora district on Monday, leaving at least 36 reported dead. The bus, which was heading from Pauri to Ramnagar, crashed near Marchula, as stated by District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey. Personnel from the SDRF, NDRF, and police hurried to the scene right once to begin a search and rescue mission.
The next of kin of each person killed in the disaster would receive an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, according to PM Modi. The injured would receive Rs 50,000. In addition to expressing sorrow over the deaths, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that orders have been granted to airlift passengers who are critically injured if necessary.
The terrible bus accident in Marchula, Almora district, claimed the lives of several passengers. The district administration has been directed to expedite relief and rescue activities. The local administration and SDRF staff at the accident scene are working quickly to evacuate the injured and bring them to the nearest health clinic for treatment.
The chief minister has given assistance of ₹1 lakh for those injured and compensation of Rs 4 lakh apiece for the families of those murdered in the tragedy.
