New Delhi : Just a few days ago, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s appeal to be awarded a joint silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. Ahead of her return to India, Vinesh shared her first response on social media through her official Instagram account.
In her post, Vinesh shared a photo of herself lying on the mat, wiping away tears, without including any caption or message. The post quickly went viral on social media, amassing over 330,000 likes on Instagram.

On Wednesday, August 14, CAS released a statement confirming that “the application filed by Vinesh Phogat on August 7 has been dismissed.”
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) noted that the verdict was initially expected on Tuesday, August 13, at 9:30 PM IST but was postponed to August 16. However, the decision was ultimately announced on Wednesday. Vinesh Phogat is scheduled to return to India on Saturday, August 17, at 10:00 AM IST.
