World Liver Day: Have You Got the Certificate Yet? Take the pledge, and get a digital certificate from the Government of India

April 19, 2025 – New Delhi
This World Liver Day, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) is inviting citizens to take a step toward better health by joining the ‘Healthier Living’ pledge—an initiative aimed at promoting liver-friendly habits. The best part? You’ll get a government-issued digital certificate once you take the pledge through the MyGov portal.
The liver is one of the most vital organs in your body, responsible for over 500 functions, including detoxification, digestion, and metabolism. Yet, liver health is often ignored, leading to serious issues like hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.
The Theme for World Liver Day 2025: “Food as Medicine”
This year’s theme is ‘Food is Medicine’ which tells us how closely our diet is linked to our liver health. Eating a balanced diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, can make a huge difference. However, many people still struggle to access healthy food options, and the campaign also stresses the need for stronger public health policies to make nutrition more accessible for all.
