Miss World 2025 Opal Chuangsri Expresses Wish to Visit Ram Temple, Highlights India-Thailand Cultural Ties

Hyderabad – After winning the Miss World 2025 crown and bringing glory to Thailand, Opal Suchata Chuangsri has expressed a deep admiration for India and its rich heritage. In an exclusive interaction with IANS, she spoke about her interest in visiting India’s historical and spiritual landmarks—most notably the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
“I would love to explore the many temples of India,” Opal said. “They are not only visually stunning but also spiritually profound. The cultural similarities between India and Thailand make the experience even more meaningful for me.”
India and Thailand have shared centuries-old cultural ties. Thailand’s national epic ‘Ramakien’ is a retelling of the Indian Ramayana and plays a central role in Thai literature, performing arts, and visual culture. Notably, the character of Hanuman is portrayed with charm and vivacity in Thai paintings and theatre, reflecting the epic’s enduring presence.
Inspired by the Women of Telangana
Speaking at the Miss World 2025 Grand Finale held in Hyderabad, Opal praised the women of Telangana for their strength and inner beauty. “The women here exude incredible resilience and confidence. Their spirit has truly inspired me. I’ve felt immense warmth and support during my time in India. I believe Indian women can achieve anything they set their minds to,” she shared.
India’s Nandini Gupta Makes It to the Top 20
This year’s pageant featured 108 contestants from across the globe. Representing India, model Nandini Gupta impressed judges with her performance and secured a spot in the Top 20, although she narrowly missed the crown.
Thailand Wins Miss World for the First Time in 70 Years
Current Miss World Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic crowned Opal Chuangsri as her successor. This marks Thailand’s first-ever win in the pageant’s 70-year history—a moment Opal describes as “historic.” “It’s a proud moment for my country. We’ve waited seven decades for this day. I’m overjoyed that Thailand is now being recognized on such a global stage,” she said.
