India has stepped into the generative AI space with a new multilingual chatbot named Xanfi, launched in April 2025 at IIT Delhi by entrepreneur Pearl Kapur. Developed under his company Zedgo 365 Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Xanfi is positioned as India’s answer to popular global AI tools like ChatGPT. What makes it stand out is its commitment to localization, language diversity, and free access for all users.

Who built Xanfi?

Xanfi is the brainchild of Pearl Kapur, a 28-year-old tech entrepreneur and founder of Zyber 365 Group. His company created Xanfi to shift India from being a consumer of AI technologies to a contributor. The project was launched from IIT Delhi, signaling its strong academic and technical backing. Although the complete team details are not public, the development reportedly involved AI and cybersecurity experts with a focus on Indian language integration.

Multilingual Support: One of Xanfi’s standout features is its ability to converse in 100+ languages, including all 22 official Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Urdu, Marathi, and more.

Free and Accessible: Unlike many global AI tools that charge subscription fees, Xanfi is completely free to use.

Multimodal Capabilities: Users can generate both text and visuals. It includes an AI art feature that creates visuals in a “Ghibli-style” based on user prompts.
