At the 8th Bharatatma Ashok Singhal Vedic Awards 2024, held in Ayodhya under the banner of Singhal Foundation ( Udaipur) , the Acharya Gopal Chandra Mishra Vedic Unnayan Institute from Varanasi was awarded with the title of ‘Uttam Ved Paṭhshala’. Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath presented the institute with a prize of ₹ 7 lakh, a medal, and a certificate.
CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the significance of Sanatan Dharma, stating that it is the only eternal religion, and as long as it thrives, humanity will flourish. He also praised Ashok Singhal’s lifelong dedication to Sanatan Dharma.
The Vedic Institute, established in 1994 in memory of renowned Vedic scholar Acharya Gopal Chandra Mishra, focuses on deep studies of Shukla Yajurveda, Krishna Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Rigveda. Over 29 key Vedic texts have been published by the institute, with its students continuing the Vedic tradition worldwide.
During a conversation with media, the institute’s representative Dr. Gangadhar Mishra stated, “This institution is currently dedicated to the regular study of 60 Vedic students. We feel honored to receive the Best Vedic School award from the Singhal Foundation, Udaipur. Receiving this award from the honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Yogi Adityanath, and the great Vedic saint, Govind Giri Maharaj, in the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, reinforces our commitment to preserving Vedic knowledge in the future. Additionally, we will continue our efforts to revive the branches of the Vedas that are on the verge of extinction.”
This year’s awards recognized achievements in four categories which include Veteran Brahmarshi Vishnu Pattal Subramaniam received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, and Vice-Chancellor R. Chandramouli Shrauti was honored with ‘Adarsh Vedaadhyaapak’, received a cash prize of five lakh rupees, Narayan Lal Sharma from Rajasthan was honored with the ‘ Utkṛishṭ Ved Vidyaarthii ‘ with a cash prize of three lakh rupees, a medal, and a certificate.
