Ravichandran Ashwin has officially announced the conclusion of his Indian Premier League (IPL) career. Calling it a “special day and a special beginning,” he revealed that while his IPL journey has ended, his passion for the game continues as he looks to global cricket leagues.

Ashwin expressed his gratitude to all the franchises he has represented, appreciating the trust, support, and memories built over the years. He also thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL for providing him with a platform that shaped his career.

Journey Across Franchises
He made his IPL debut in 2009 with Chennai Super Kings under MS Dhoni’s leadership. His breakthrough performances in 2010 and 2011 were pivotal in CSK’s back-to-back title victories. Over time, he also represented Rising Pune Supergiant, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals. His versatility and sharp cricketing mind established him as one of the most dependable spinners in the league.
Ravichandran Ashwin Achievements in the IPL
Ashwin’s IPL career boasts over 200 games and more than 170 wickets to his name. He became known for his tactical variations and sharp cricketing brain. He also captained Punjab in 2018 and 2019, proving his leadership qualities while continuing to contribute with both ball and bat.

He remains one of India’s greatest match-winners at the international level. Since debuting for India in 2010, Ashwin has established himself as a modern Test great, surpassing the milestone of 500 wickets.
